Who We Are

At Azteca Boxing Club, our unwavering mission is to create a brighter and more promising future for the youth of Greeley and Evans, Colorado.
We believe that sports can be a powerful catalyst for personal and academic growth, and we are committed to preparing student-athletes to excel both in the classroom and in their chosen sports.
Our primary objective is to instill ethical and moral values in the next generation through active participation in competitive sports.
Our core values, which underpin everything we do, include teamwork, discipline, respect, and self-control.
We firmly believe in fostering a culture where young individuals can learn not just the technical aspects of sports, but also the life skills that will guide them through the challenges they face.
Our dedication to competitive excellence extends to education as well as athletics, ensuring that our students are well-rounded and prepared for success.
One of the cornerstones of our organization is our mentorship program.
Through this program, we actively work on improving academic achievement, boosting self-esteem, enhancing social competence, and steering our students away from problematic and high-risk behaviors.
Our specially trained coaches and staff at Azteca Boxing Club establish strong and supportive relationships with our students, guiding them towards becoming well-rounded individuals both inside and outside the ring.
Our founder, Aj Vasquez, is not your typical standard. He has dedicated his life to giving back to the community, driven by a deep desire to make a meaningful impact.
Aj's commitment to teaching life lessons to at-risk youth without expecting financial rewards or community accolades is truly commendable.
Having overcome his own challenges, including a period of incarceration as a teenager, Aj embodies resilience and transformation.
He went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and has become a prominent community leader.
Our organization thrives on Aj's drive to succeed, his tested abilities, and his unwavering character.
An example of this impact is a past student, Mariana Lopez, who participated in the Azteca Boxing Club.
She is from an under-privaleged family, but is now a part of the USA Youth Boxing team and holds a place in the World Class Athlete Program.
His mission is an inspiration for us all, reminding us of the power of dedication and mentorship.
At Azteca Boxing Club, we don't just shape athletes; we shape futures, change lives, and make our community a better place.
